Izumi’s filmmaking style is instantly recognizable and widely known in Japan, defined by bold visual dynamism that captures attention from the first frame.

Known for his disciplined and innovative approach, Izumi brings a clear directorial vision to every project, applying a sharp, analytical mindset to shape each work on his own terms, even within the practical constraints of complex productions.

Born in Osaka in 1978, Izumi developed a passion for visual storytelling while studying architecture at Osaka University, where his interest in structure and design continues to inform his work as a director.

​

In 2002, he joined Dentsu Tech, now Dentsu Creative X, as a director in the Planning and Direction Department. After nearly a decade at the company, he became a member of THE DIRECTORS GUILD in April 2012.

Izumi is a founding member of THE NoLD.
