CHENKO TSUKAGOSHI チェンコ塚越

Driven by a deep commitment to craft, Chenko’s work spans high-budget commercials, music videos, feature films, and a Netflix docuseries, while also extending to self-initiated projects across emerging platforms.

Versatility is central to his approach. Chenko moves fluidly between drama and comedy, action and intimacy, bringing the same level of intention and precision to every scale of production.

Born in Tokyo in 1979, he graduated from Tama Art University with a degree in Graphic Design. He began his career at Tohokushinsha, training under directors Shinya Nakajima and Tatsuhito Nakano, where he developed a strong foundation in commercial filmmaking.

In 2009, Chenko relocated to the United States as a freelance director, producing independent short films and commercials that earned global acclaim, including national television broadcasts and Top 10 international rankings. After returning to Japan in 2010, he joined THE DIRECTORS GUILD and continued to build an international career, later entering a management partnership with Film Construction in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2020, he directed his first feature film, MAN WITH A MISSION THE MOVIE -TRACE the HISTORY-.
